Transforming our dream into reality – from the moment we first saw Vitigliano to its completion – lasted seven wonderful years in total.

When, in autumn 2008, we first saw the ruins of Vitigliano, the first official documentation of which dates back to 1085, we wondered how many people had lived here over the past 1,000 years, how many children had been born and died here. It was a contemplation that touched us deeply and we knew that this was the place where we would set down roots for ourselves and our children. The negotiations necessary to enable us to purchase the estate lasted two long years. Initially, we renovated only a small part to enable us to move in with all our children and to restore the rest of the property from here over the following five years.
